Book Blogger Hop - July 20 - 26

Book Blogger Hop

QUESTION OF THE WEEK:

What’s the ONE super-hyped book you’ll NEVER read?

MY ANSWER:

This is an easy answer:  FIFTY SHADES OF GREY.  I have no desire to read this book at all.

I am sure I am in the minority, but I just don't want to read it.  A friend bought me the book, but still haven't even ventured a thought about reading it.

In fact, my son asked if he could take it because he wants to see what all the hype is.  :)  My husband said:  There has to be something good about it if it is on the best seller's list.  Ha Ha I told him.

How about you?  Have you read this book yet?

  2. don't waste your TIME. Sorry to say that but it is the biggest HYPE I can recall that is so below standard reading. besides a no where plot, editing is terrible, dialogue is so elementary, its just a mess.

  3. I wouldn't waste money on it either. Even if it were free!

  4. Thanks for your comments. I am glad I am not the only one that isn't interested.

The book was all over the bookstores in Scotland too.

Waterstone's is the biggest book store in the UK, and this book was front and center....uggh.

  5. Hi -I wouldn't say you were in the minority as most people today seem to have voted for Fifty Shades also, including me. It's amazing what sort of 'hype' sells though isn't it?
I'm completely uninterested in it. I'm a new follower from book blogs and this is my first hop. Been great, thanks.

  7. How great you came to Scotland. I live just below in Cumbria. I'am about 1 hours drive from the Scottish border. Our weather has been very wet and much cooler than normal since April. Hoping to see some summer sun soon. Following you now -love your blog & reviews.Plus I've found a book I want here -'Lost in Shangri-La.' I love anything to do with WW1/2. Brilliant and thanks.

  8. Hi again, Suzy:

I was in Edinburgh. Love that adorable city.

The only thing I didn't like was the weather. :)

Was in Portree a few years ago.

Please contact me via e-mail if you can. I can't seem to find any e-mail for you.

  9. This one isn't on my list either. I'm not saying I'll never read it, but there are many many books I want to read before that one! Good choice.

  10. Actually it seems you are in the majority! So many can't stand it but about as many love it. Life's a mystery ...

Thanks for leaving a comment btw. :)

  11. I'm not interested in reading it either. I don't know how good the book is, but from what I've read it doesn't sound like a book I would enjoy (the whole genre, not only this specific book).

  13. I don't think you are in the minority, plus most of the people I follow reviews of that have read it said it was terrible. I haven't read, but I know I will eventually. Not because of the hype, just because I like to form my own opinion on things.
Thanks for stopping by my blog =)

  14. I share the same sentiments as you, so you're not alone, or, from the looks of the other comments, you're not in the minority.
