QUESTION OF THE WEEK:
What is your favorite book set in a different country than the one you live in?
MY ANSWER:
I enjoy books that are set in Victorian England.
My favorite books are set in the UK and are mostly Kate Morton's books.
Kate Morton's favorite book of mine is:
THE FORGOTTEN GARDEN

I also like THE TEA ROSE and THE WINTER ROSE by Jennifer Donnelly.
Both are set in the UK and during that time period.
I need to read the sequel to both of those, the WILD ROSE, and also her other book, NORTHERN LIGHT.

We seem to have a lot in common because often my answer is very similar to yours. My favourite setting is also in the UK, a little further back than Victorian though I don't mind those either. My favourite author is Jane Austen and my favourite novel by her "Persuasion" (no, not "Pride & Prejudice, LOL).
Neat on having a lot in common.
THANKS for being my first comment, Marianne. :)
My favorite books take place in England as well. Happy hopping!

I'm not sure - maybe the Harry Potter books?
I have quite a few faves set in England too - I think Neverwhere, Neil Gaiman is at the top of the list!

I like Old English books as well.. This was such a hard question for me today!!
I havent read either of the two you mention so I will definitely have to put it on my list/
Great answer!
Awesome, the Forgotten Garden is on my TBR! Looking forward to reading it. :)
I just finished Donnelly's book Revolution, a YA book about the French Revolution and want to read those others you mentioned. Fun
I love books set in England, too; and also in Scotland and Ireland.
This is my first time to see this new Book Blogger Hop.
I hope you can join in then, Laurel-Rain Snow.
Thanks for stopping by.
It's odd, because having lived in the U.K. I forget that it's foreign to me as an American and my answer to this got botched. I should have said that my favorite was Nora Roberts' Gallaghers of Ardmore trilogy, because that would be true. I just forget that that part of the world counts as foreign. You mention England and I am reminded.
I've never read the book you mentioned, but I love Victorian England as well. Perhaps I'll look that book up in a local book shop. Ah, and following you back. ;)
YES to Kate Morton. In fact I just posted a recap post on all her books I read: http://wordsandpeace.com/2013/03/08/books-by-kate-morton/
I totally read the question wrong. I was thinking which "set" did I own from a different country. Oops.
I like Victorian England as well. I also love the Tudor era.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
