Book Blogger Hop - 8/16 - 8/22

 QUESTION OF THE WEEK:

Were you a born bookworm or did somebody get you into the habit of reading?

MY ANSWER:

Hmmmmmm...a little bit of both for me.

I remember reading a lot when I was young, but it wasn't a family affair.  :)

I slacked off for a while just because I didn't have time...isn't that awful to not have time for reading...uggh.

Then I joined a few book clubs, started my blog, and my reading became a passion, and I am NEVER without a book in my hand no matter where I go.

So....I will have to say I wasn't born a book worm, but definitely turned into one.

GREAT question.

  5. Born to it! Sometimes I wonder what else I could have done with all those hours I spent reading for pleasure. But no regrets.

  11. I think it's very important to read to your children. Not only does it spark a love of books, it gets their imagination going.

  15. I glad that you developed a passion for reading and blogging Elizabeth. I can't remember a time when I didn't have books spread all over my house.

  16. I'm not a part any real book clubs. I have only joined online book clubs though. So far, my, sort of, reading club comprises of me and my two sisters;) It's not much but enough not to let me feel lonely.
Thanks for stopping my blog, Elizabeth.

  17. Time is certainly a factor. I have always been a bookworm though, and often got into trouble for it! I would like to join a book club next year, will have to start researching in my local area to see what is going. Or endeavour to start one myself!

I congratulate you for doing it all on your own! And joining a book club sure sounds like fun! I wish I had the time for that, but I don't....

Thanks for sharing, and thanks as well for commenting on my BBH post!! : )

  20. I wasn't born a bookworm either. It was probably just after high school that I started enjoying reading.

  22. You probably had latent bookwormitis, it just had to be around those already in fully developed bookworms to trigger it. ;)

  25. I definitely slacked off in my reading for pleasure, too. It was really hard to "find the time" when I was in college and when I started teaching. Harry Potter brought me back until I hit grad school which slowed me down again! (How did I let this happen more than once?!?!)
Then I almost went blind and COULDN'T read for about two years. That was the wake up call I needed! I will read every moment I can now!! :)
