Book Blogger Hop - 8/23 - 8/29

 QUESTION OF THE WEEK:

Book blogging is more than just reading. Who helped you set up or run your blog? Or did you do it all yourself?
MY ANSWER:

I set my blog up on my own.  I didn't know anyone who could help at the time I set it up, but made it through.

I have no one else "running" my blog but me.

I did help my sister when she began her blog at a later date.  I had the kinks pretty much ironed out and had become pretty good at figuring out how to maneuver through Blogger.

How about you?  Looking forward to the answers.

  1. My son sort of helped me but I really did most of my set up myself. I wish I had someone to run it! lol

  4. In my case, I set mine up myself via Blogger, which is easy to do. (I'm not very tech-savvy. And I run it myself as well. Like the other Elizabeth, I do enjoy doing it myself.

No, Cynthia, that is not my home town, but an adorable place called Portree, Scotland. We visited there two summers ago.

  16. You know, I think the best way to get started is on your own, but with the help of some sort of tutorial, or book. Then you can go at your own pace. That's the way I did it.

Once you've got the basics, you can then start 'tweaking around'. You can also learn (indirectly) from other bloggers, by using ideas you get from their blogs.

I think you're doing just fine by yourself! Keep up the great work!! : )

  17. I set up my blog on my own using blogger, which is very user friendly. However, my layout has changed a lot since I first started. I write my own reviews. I'm the only author for my blog.

  18. Elizabeth,

I just saw your message about starting a list of bloggers to refer authors to. I tried to email you, but the I kept getting a delivery failure reply. It may be easier to start a private forum for book bloggers and post the review pitch the author sent you for other bloggers to see. I'm a member of a PR forum where members can share product reviews that companies sent them.

  19. A friend came over to help me get started. I now want to change the layout but haven't figured out exactly what I want to do. I'll have to round up another blogger friend. I've taken a bit of summer vacation from my blog and just now getting back to it. It's part book blog and part life blog.

  26. It's so great that you were able to help your sister out. I think that's one of the best things about setting up and running a blog on your own - you can then teach it to other people.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!
