I was lucky enough to still be in New York to get this great shot on Wednesday evening.  The weather is foggy but balmy.

This is from the Hoboken side.

And here is a closeup the next morning.

  2. THANKS, Michelle and Mary.

I was focusing on the Empire State Building so when I stepped out around 8 the next morning and saw the foggy, lonely building, I got out my camera. :)

  8. That second shot with the fog and the almost empty stret is fantastic - not at all how I imagine busy New York to be! My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/1SXA7W - still on my 'othe'r blog!

  9. I adore New York, even though I've never been there...yet. But through books and movies and photos like these...I get to enjoy it vicariously.

Thanks! Glad you had a great time, and thanks for visiting my blog.

  10. I had a great time...thanks for stopping by, Shelia.

I like the second one better too, Louise. :)

The empty street one isn't New York City. :) It is Washington Street in Hoboken, NJ. The photo is taken in front of my son's building. I can see across the Hudson to Manhattan. NYC is VERY busy. THANKS for stopping by, Christine.

    Thanks for stopping, Laurel.

  11. Oh yes, Kathy.

I am so thankful my son lives there. He loves our visits too. Dinner every night instead of making it himself. :)

  14. Both are great photos!! I like the lights in the background of the first one (and the water of course), and the fog in the background of the second one.

    Love NY!

I do like the second one better. It looks eerie but pretty "cool." :)

THANKS, Martha...not saying NYC is my favorite city, but it does provide good photos. :) :)

  16. The lights of NY bring back good memories of our visit there in 2007. I love the foggy shot though - very atmospheric.
