Mailbox Monday - 6/23/14

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. (Library books don’t count, but eBooks & audiobooks do).

Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles, and humongous wish lists!

Mailbox Monday, created by Marcia @ A Girl and Her Books, has a permanent home now at Mailbox Monday.

 **********************
Every week Mailbox Monday will have a new linky posted for our Mailbox Monday links at Marcia's Mailbox Monday blog.

Here’s a shout out to the new administrators:

Leslie of Under My Apple Tree
Vicki of I’d Rather Be at the Beach
Serena @ Savvy Verse And Wit

THANKS to everyone for keeping Mailbox Monday alive.

 ****************

I hope you had a good mailbox.

 ****************

How many books did you receive this week?

My son brought all my BEA books with him on Thursday, and I received four other books in the mail.

*****************
On Monday, June 16, I received:

1.  WOMEN OF VALOR by Joanne D. Gilbert courtesy of Stephen Feuer of Gihon River Press.

I have reviewed a few books for Stephen. My favorite was Ursla's Prism by Anna Block.

2.  PREVIOUSLY LOVED TREASURES by Bette Lee Crosby, courtesy of the author.

I LOVE Bette's books.  I can't wait to read this sequel to The Twelfth Child.

On Wednesday, June 18, I received:
1.  THE WINTER SEA by Susanna Kearsley, courtesy of Sourcebooks.

I have always wanted to read Susanna's books, but never could a copy.  I met the lovely ladies of Sourcebooks at the BEA this spring, and they sent me a copy.  Now I have THREE of her books, and can't wait to start reading them.

On Saturday, June 21, I received:

1.  SWEET WATER by Christina Baker Kline, courtesy of Alaina Waagner of Harper Collins.

I loved Ms. Kline's book, The Orphan Train, and was excited to receive a copy of her newest book.

  19. Hi Elizabeth,

No shortage of great new reading material this week then!

All of your authors are new to me, although Susanna Kearsley has been on my 'to read' list for some time, after being recommended so often!

In fact all of your fiction choices have made it to my list, as I couldn't separate them to pick a favourite.

I did smile when I discovered that the family name in 'Previously Loved Treasures', is SweetWater and the title of one of your books is 'Sweet Water' ... I don't generally believe in coincidences, but!!!

Have a great week and Happy Reading.

    Yvonne

  20. I've yet to read a single thing by Susanna Kearsley either. Which is a shame because I've heard such, such great things about her. Eventually though I'm sure I'll get to her, and I hope you enjoy her!

  21. Shoshanah - I am looking forward to reading her books.

I hope you get to read them too.

    Thanks for stopping.

  22. You are right, Yvonne. The name Sweetwater is in Bette's book. :) A coincidence for sure or something that tells you to read both of them. :)

I LOVED Jubilee's Journey and The Twelfth Child.

I hope you get to read Bette's books and Susanna's.

    THANKS for stopping.
