It's Monday! What Are You Reading? - 7/14/14

I hope you had a great reading week.

This is a weekly meme run by Book Journey!

Post the books completed last week, the books you are currently reading, and the books you hope to finish this week.

Books Completed Last Week:

THE LIGHTKEEPER'S WIFE by Sarah Anne Johnson

I love the cover and loved the fantastic writing and research done by the author, but it wasn't a favorite.

Review will be up on September 1 for a blog tour with Sourcebooks.

Book Currently Reading:

LITTLE MERCIES by Heather Gudenkauf

This book is quite good even though it is heartbreaking.

Have you read it?  What were your thoughts?

Books Up Next:

THE MILL RIVER REDEMPTION by Darcie Chan

THE TRUTH ABOUT THE HARRY QUEBERT AFFAIR by Joel Dicker

THE GIRL WHO CAME HOME by Hazel Gaynor

WOMAN OF ILL FAME by Erika Mailman

THE SIGNATURE OF ALL THINGS by Elizabeth Gilbert

PERFECT by Rachel Joyce

UNDER THE WIDE AND STARRY SKY by Nancy Horan

**********************

The books below are not necessarily in the order I have planned to read them.

I normally read in order of publication or tour date.

And....these are not for reading in the upcoming week.  They are books into and including all of 2014.

The "list" is a means of keeping me organized.  A visual display helps a lot for organization along with my Excel lists.

How was your reading week?

I added some really good books to my queue this week.  I am excited!!

Which ones do you have your eye on?

  6. Sometimes a book seems to have everything but it just somehow doesn't come together to be amazing! I wish I was organised enough to have Excel lists but I'm afraid I just read without any plan! I'm glad you enjoyed 'Little Mercies', I'll have to get onto that one! Great bunch of books :) Thanks for sharing

  18. Thanks for stopping, Marce.

The Lightkeeper's Wife has a fantastic cover, but it has a so so inside storyline. Not bad, but not my favorite.

I think EVERYONE loved Little Mercies.

  25. Hi Elizabeth,

I like the sound of 'Little Mercies' and I am sure that I shall be adding Heather Gudenkauf's name to my list for future reading. The title list of the books she has written, shows just how much thought has gone into them and the synopses alone make for some powerful reading. I shall look forward to sharing your thoughts about this one.

Enjoy the rest of your week. Apparently the weather here in the South of the UK is now hotter than in Barbados, which I can well believe. I'm afraid that I am more of a Spring and Autumn girl myself and this is just a bit too much for me.

  29. I will look forward to discussing Little Mercies with you too, Yvonne.

I am sure you will like the book. This is the first book I read by the author. She is amazing.

Wow on the weather. That is unusual isn't it? No rain? :)

ENJOY your reading week and the lovely weather even though it isn't as cool as you would like.

THANKS so much for stopping, Yvonne.
