Book Blogger Hop - 11/21 - 11/27

 Question of the Week:

Do you have any advice for new bloggers?

My Answer:

I have a few tips:

1.  Remove the verification code.
2.  Join a few weekly memes so you get your blog known.
3.  Reply to comments on your blog.
4.  Don't accept more books than you can handle.
5.  Ask for advice from other book bloggers - we are the most friendly, helpful folks around.
6.  Enjoy your blogging experience.

  5. All fantastic tips Elizabeth. I still have a hard time with #4. I blame NetGalley and its vast selection of wonderful books lol.

  6. Definitely on #4, but if beginners were like I was, I accepted books and once I got them, I wasn't able to read because of the content.

    I am more selective now.

    Thanks for stopping, Monique.

  7. I need to do number 3. I think sometimes people don't care after they leave a comment. But your right. I should. Great advise. :)

  8. Great advice Elizabeth :) I had to learn the hard way with #4, but I am still finding it difficult to say no to some of these books {sigh} I'm such a people pleaser :/ I don't know how to say no without hurting someone else's feelings anyway. . .have a lovely weekend!

  9. Thanks, Claudia.

It is difficult to say no, but I always give the folks requesting book reviews other sites that they can look at for other bloggers who may be able to help them. We can't read EVERY book out there. :)

I include link to book blogs and similar sites that list blogs that may be able to help.

    I hope that helps.

    THANKS for stopping.

I always ask for notification when I leave a comment on another blog.

    THANKS for stopping, Alysia.

  17. Great advice Elizabeth :)

If I make a comment on a blog, I click on the 'notify me', so f I get a comment back I can see it. I'm still learning about #4, although I get most books for review via Netgalley, I have gotten better about it in the last few years though. Here's my answer, similar to yours :) http://cataluna6.blogspot.com.au/2014/11/book-blogger-hop-21-27th-november.html
