Book Beginnings - 7/24/15

*Please join Rose City Reader every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author's name.  *Taken directly from Rose City Reader's Blog Page.

My book beginnings is taken from THE SUMMER OF GOOD INTENTIONS by Wendy Francis.

"The salty Cape air blew in through the window, and Maggie listened to the steady thump of blinds hitting the windowsill.  The spot next to her in the bed was empty, the sheets dimpled.  Mac must have already gotten to fetch the paper and coffee at the Blueberry Bagel down the road."

It is a breezy, summer read.  I am enjoying the book.  I have never read anything by this author, have you?

I finished this book last week.

THE LAST SUMMER AT CHELSEA BEACH by Pam Jenoff.
Excellent as always.  My review will be up on Tuesday, July 28.
In the meantime, go to this post for information from the publisher and Pam Jenoff on how to turn your book club discussion into the era of the 1940's.

  2. I have not read anything by the author, but the beginning does sound good. You can just hear the thumping of the blinds and feel the cool breeze. I need a vacation. LOL

    1. It is cute as well as having family drama, but you can't have a family without drama, right? :)
