Mailbox Monday - 10/5/15

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. (Library books don’t count, but eBooks & audiobooks do).

Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles, and humongous wish lists!

Mailbox Monday, created by Marcia @ A Girl and Her Books, has a permanent home now at Mailbox Monday.
 *****************
Every week Mailbox Monday will have a new linky posted for our Mailbox Monday links at Marcia's Mailbox Monday blog.
Here’s a shout out to the new administrators:

Leslie of Under My Apple Tree
Vicki of I’d Rather Be at the Beach
Serena @ Savvy Verse And Wit

THANKS to everyone for keeping Mailbox Monday alive.

I hope you had a good mailbox.

I had another very lean week.  :)

On Tuesday, September 29, I received:
1.  THE LOFT  by Bette Lee Crosby, courtesy of the author.

This was a surprise book.  I always enjoy Bette's books, and have reviewed a few on my blog.
My favorite books by Ms. Crosby are Jubliee's Journey and The Twelfth Child.

 How about your mailbox?

Any titles in your mailbox that you were excited about seeing?

  12. I bought 4 books last week, and I like to give away as many as I get, to keep in balance. Today I took a walk with a friend and gave her ten of my extra gardening books. Hurray!

  16. Hi Elizabeth,

It is great that Bette obviously values the excellent reviews you have given her work, enough to want you to read and enjoy 'The Loft'.

I haven't read anything by Bette, although her name keeps cropping up on fellow bloggers sites and judging by the excellent ratings and reviews she consistently achieves for her books, she is obviously one popular lady!

I did check out this series and love the cover art for both books, so I shall be interested to know if I can read them as stand alone stories, or if I need to read them in order. It is a difficult call to make from simply reading the synopses, but the two stories do appear to be inextricably linked.

Anyway, enjoy the story and thanks for sharing :)

    Yvonne

    1. I read Jubliee's Journey after the first one that introduced the characters and I was fine.

The Twelfth Child is the first book and then Previously Loved Treasures follows that.

The Twelfth Child was my favorite.

So....I would say, yes, you can read them as stand alones.

      Thanks for stopping, Yvonne.
