Book Beginnings - 2/26/16

*Please join Rose City Reader every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author's name.  *Taken directly from Rose City Reader's Blog Page.

My book beginnings is taken from BLACK RABBIT HALL by Eve Chase:

"I feel safe on the cliff ledge, safer than in the house, anyway.  A few feet from the coast path, it's a twenty-minute scramble from the edge of the estate, far enough from Black Rabbit Hall's watching windows, a secret place."
**********
I finished this book last week.

GLORY OVER EVERYTHING by Kathleen Grissom.
Review will be on my blog on April 5.
An emotional sequel to THE KITCHEN HOUSE.

  5. The opening sentence of Black Rabbit Hall makes me wonder what about it makes the character feel safer on a cliff than by the hall's "watching windows." Intriguing.
