Book Blogger Hop - 9/30 - 10/6

 Question of the Week:

Do you encourage other reading friends to start a blog or at least put their thoughts/reviews on public reading sites such as Goodreads, Amazon, etc?

My Answer:

I try, but most folks don't want to take the time to start up a blog or they are afraid.

I do suggest putting their thoughts on Goodreads, Amazon, etc.

Most encouragement falls on deaf ears.  :)

  1. I think of this as a hobby which I enjoy. I guess it's the same as someone suggesting I take up golf because they enjoy that...isn't going to happen though if they said cake baking I might give it a go 😄

    1. LOL...I love your answer.

Never thought of it that way, Emma. I definitely would not take up golf.

I would join you in the cake baking, though. :)

      Thanks for stopping, Emma.

  3. I think that, for someone to actually start a book blog, or even just post reviews online, they have to feel this OVERWHELMING PASSION for books, and want to share it with the world. There are many people who read, yet don't feel this passion. We book bloggers, on the other hand, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE books!! We prefer discussing them to discussing any other topic!

So don't feel bad, Elixabeth, if people are not interested in sharing their thoughts about books online. Yes, you can encourage them, but if they simply aren't interested, what can you do? Lol. It's nice, though, that you do encourage them!

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such a lovely comment on my own BBH post!! Hope you have a WONDERFUL weekend!! Happy Hopping!! <3 :)

    1. I try simply to let them enjoy the fun bloggers have, but I don't pressure. I say it one time, and when I get a look that says: "Just leave me alone on this," I just don't ask again.

I think some folks don't want to take the time or think they can do it, but everyone has his or her opinions and I respect that.

      Thanks for stopping, Maria.

  4. Very few people I know offline know about my blog or that I review books. It's not something I talk much about or care to share. Of those I know who like to read, many have no interest in writing down their thoughts or in writing reviews. It's more of a casual hobby for them rather than the passion it is for me. If anyone of them did show an interest in reviewing or blogging, however, I'd be the first to jump in to support them.

I hope you have a great week, Elizabeth!

  5. Such an interesting question this week... I don't have very many bookish people outside of the community, but I think encouraging others in this way is such a good thing, even if it just falls on deaf ears!

I hope you have a wonderful week!

    1. I try, but I sort of have given up.

I don't like to force anything on anyone.

Thanks for stopping, Reading With Jade.
