My Book  Beginnings is taken from THE HUSBAND HOUR by Jamie Brenner:

"The warm winters still surprised her, every day a gift.  But that particular morning, the heat was a problem.  She didn't want to wear a short-sleeved dress.  It seemed the entire city of Los Angeles had turned out, like it was the  Super Bowl or the Academy Awards."

    1. It is good, but a bit too long. I am about 50% through the book.

      Thanks for commenting, Kim.

  2. The cover on this one looks a little vintage-y which always appeals to me. I love the beginning so I'm adding this to my list.

    1. It is set at the beach - thus the cover. It also deals with grief and head injury trauma to athletes..

I enjoyed her other book, THE FOREVER SUMMER, more.

      Thanks for commenting, Katherine.

  6. 'The Husband Hour' probably isn't a book I would have chosen for myself, although I would still have hoped you would have enjoyed it a little more than you seem to be!

I do admit to being intrigued as to why she didn't want to wear a short sleeved dress on a warm day!

I do hope that the lovely list of books you have due for review, were all good for you :)

    Have a good weekend :)

    Yvonne
