Book Blogger Hop - 2/16 - 2/22

 Question of the Week:

Have you ever found yourself acting like a favorite character in a novel? If so, which one? (submitted by Maria @ A Night's Dream of Books)
My Answer:

Oh Maria...I ALWAYS love your questions.

I have to think about this.

My answer is no, but I would like to be in some of the books with characters that are back in the 1800's or in Kate Morton's books.

  1. It's not so much that I feel like I act like certain characters, but more when I find that we have similar personalities. Those always tend to stick out for me!

    1. Similar personalities would be something to think about and relate to.

  2. I can't think of a time I've done that either.

  3. I don't think my actions are particularly influenced by characters either. Being with some of the characters in the 1800s would be fun but I think I'd want it to be a brief visit. Lack of running water - especially hot running water would not go over well with me!

    1. LOL...for sure.

Not too much sanitation or other amenities during that time.

  4. I don't know that I've ever acted like another character, but I have noticed that I temporarily pick up speech patterns/accents from characters when I read a book.

    1. Fun...picking up those things would be interesting.

      Are they temporary?

    1. There are some characters that would be interesting to pretend to be. :)

  6. My answer is pretty much the same! I never acted like a character but sometimes I wished I did!

  7. I don't think I could handle living in the 1800s, not with women and POC rights in the state that they were. I do admire some of the heroines from that time who spoke out against the norms of society, though.

    1. I loved the dress and etiquette of the time, but you are correct about the rights of women....NONE.

  8. I don't act like characters, but I definitely see similarities between myself and characters.

  9. I love it when a book character does something that I'd do and I'm all, "I do that!" But I never aspire to act like a book character. I have tried things - for example chamomile tea - because a character in a book was drinking it and made it sound awesome... It wasn't, lol.

    1. Fun....I may have done that too.

Decided I wanted the snack or drink the character is having. :)

  10. THANKS for liking my questions, Elizabeth! I REALLY cudgel my brains to come up with good ones! :)

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with wanting to be in books with your favorite characters! I would LOVE to be in "Jane Eyre", so I could kiss Edward Rochester! Lol. (Now, hubby, he's just a fictional character!Lol.)

Of course, I'd LOVE to be able to attend Hogwarts, the magical school in the Harry Potter series!! The closest I can come to that, though, is wearing my Gryffindor robe, waving my Hermione Granger wand around (or my Harry Potter wand), and shouting either "Wingardium Leviosa!" or "Expecto Patronum!" LOL.

Thanks for sharing! Thanks as well for stopping by and commenting on my own BBH post!! HUGS!!!! :D ♥ :D ♥ :D ♥

  11. I've been told that I act like Bella from Twilight, not the selfless, death-defying actions she does, but more like her sarcastic, shy, intuitive, thoughtful personality. Plus, we both love to read and love Edward Cullen! My BBH
