My Book Beginnings is taken from SOMEBODY’S BODY by David Bell:

"The doorbell rang shortly after eight o’clock.  The doorbell almost never rang.  Certainly not so late in the evening.  From the kitchen, he heard the scrape of silverware against plates, the opening and closing of the refrigerator as. Angela put the leftovers away in preparation of Michael doing the dishes.”

A suspenseful read...I am enjoying it.

  2. I have a David Bell book (Bring Her Home) that I haven't yet read. Seeing this new book reminded me, so it's going on my "up soon" list.

Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.

  3. Somebody's Daughter is getting nearer to the top of my review stack. I can't wait to get to it. This week I am reading Harry Potter and the Cursed Child which has been on TBR mountain for quite a while. Happy reading!

    1. It is pretty good. I have seen a lot of two stars for it - not sure why.

  4. The doorbell line is a good hook. Makes you wonder what is going to happen next.

I noticed many of the titles you show feature beaches and summer. Makes me want to go to the beach.
