Book Blogger Hop - 5/18 - 5/24

Question of the Week:

What were your worst movies based off of books? (submitted by Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog)

My Answer:

Oh boy...great question, but I don't have an answer.

I really haven't watched too many movies based on books except THE BOOK THIEF, THE HELP, and MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS.

Those books and movies were wonderful.

  2. Two very bad movies, oddly enough star the same actor AND he even kind of looks the same in each one.

    The Cat in the Hat
    The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

  5. At least by not seeing too many movies based on books, you have fewer chances of being disappointed! :)

  7. I watch a lot of adaptations, but I am easily entertained and I try to see them as two separate things. I've seen the Book Thief but I still haven't read the book! I need to get on that. Have a great weekend Elizabeth!

  8. I've seen one version of Murder on the Orient Express that I enjoyed but am not sure on the latest. I can't quite get used to the idea of Kenneth Branagh as Poirot.

    1. I only saw the newest one so I can't compare characters from the film.

      It was a good movie.

  9. It's a tough question!

I can't say that I've watched all that many movies based on books either. Or, at least, I've watched them before knowing they were based on a book. However, there are some adaptations that I think do a bad job of portraying the book and the original story, but I still find them enjoyable to watch as a film on it's own.

Feel free to check out my own answer if you wish!
