Yeah I can't really remember what book I read by myself for the first time. It's got to be a storybook of some kind! Here's my Book Blogger HopHave a GREAT day!Old Follower :)
Thinking about it, it had to be something from first grade. Dick and Jane for me. :)Thanks for commenting, Jessica.
I can't remember either.

It's such a big question, I'm surprised when people are actually able to remember their first independent reading experience. I know a lot of people who are fans of the Nancy Drew books, but I never got around to reading them myself. Good answer!Feel free to check out my own answer if you wish (with some puppy pictures!)- Charlotte (InkBlottings)
It is amazing to remember.I read every Nancy Drew book, but I don't think they were my first books. Thanks for the memory. Thanks for commenting, C InkBlottings.
I couldn't recall either.
:)A bit tricky to have to think back to about 50+ years ago. :)Thanks for commenting, Nicki.
I read Nancy Drew too as a kid! I feel like with me being a reader, I should remember the first book I've ever read by myself. However, I don't remember specifically the first book I've ever read on my own, without my parents reading to me. I do remember reading many book series like Baby-Sitters Club, Boxcar Children, Nancy Drew, Animorphs, and the first Harry Potter book, as a child, and those books fueled me to read more on my own. I loved Nancy Drew! I read all the ones I could my hands on so many times. I don't really remember the first book I read on my own either. I do wish I did.
Mom would take us to the library and we would get as many Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books we were allowed to take out. :)Thanks for commenting, Katherine.
