*Please join Rose City Reader every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. My Book Beginnings is taken from THOSE PEOPLE by Louise Candlish:

"Yes, We're aware that someone's been killed; of course we are.  What a terrible way to die, absolutely horrific.  My wife was one of the first on the scene.  She's over the road right now at number 2, Sissy Watkins's house--Naomi Morgan, she's called."

  2. Interesting quote. It is dialogue from a phone conversation. Otherwise it seems odd the way it is phrased. My quotes and thoughts on A Heart in a Body in the World

    1. It is an interview with the police.

I'll have to look again to see if it is a phone conversation.

      Thanks for commenting, Anne.
