Book Blogger Hop - 5/10/2019

Question of the Week:

Do you have a favorite classic? When did you read it? High school or as an adult? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)

My Answer:

My favorite classic is THE SCARLET LETTER. (I think it is a classic.)

I read it in high school.  I remember we had a lot of fun with the book even though it was back in the late 60's.  :)

The classic that I truly did not like was ANIMAL FARM.

  1. I'd say they are both classics! I never read either! It's interesting how the curriculum differs for schools, grades, and area! These were classics that never came up in my classes.

  3. I loved Anna Karenina, which I read for the first time last year. I really liked Animal Farm but didn't like The Scarlet Letter very much! I can't remember any classics from my school days except for The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis.

    1. Anna Karenina was not a favorite. :)

We never read The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, but it probably hadn't been written when I was in high school. :)

  4. The Scarlet Letter, passion, wild emotion, and forbidden love before the ill created Fifty Shades of Grey. One of my favorites, great choice!

    1. It was good, and I am surprised about it being required reading in a high school class.

LOL on Fifty Shades of Grey.

  5. I remember reading Alice in Wonderland at primary school and having to learn some of the poems. We did Animal Farm at secondary school and I hated it; I preferred Shakespeare.
I don’t read classics any more, I’m a contemporary paranormal romance or urban fantasy gal but I did read Dracula a couple of years ago and enjoyed it but remember thinking how different it was from all the films.

    1. Animal Farm was awful!!

I don't read classics any more either. I only read them because they were required reading in school. :)
