Book Blogger Hop - 11/2 - 11/8

 QUESTION OF THE WEEK:

Is there a book that has been languishing on your TBR pile even though you spent months anticipating its release?

MY ANSWER:

I  have had CITY OF WOMEN by David R. Gillham on my shelf since June when I picked it up at the BEA, and it is now moved to the stack that lets me know.....read this Elizabeth.

I guess I haven't been awaiting its release, I have been waiting to get some of my review requests finished. :)

I actually started reading CITY OF WOMEN last Sunday.

My "push" to read it is because one of my book clubs chose it for November.  I have heard many good comments about it online and from friends.  Looking forward to the read.  Has anyone else read it?

THANKS, Book Club....if it hadn't been for you, the book most likely would still be on the shelf anxiously awaiting my taking it down and opening it.

Have a great hop!!

  7. You sound like me - I have about 25 books to review and about 10 that I purchased for my own reading that I can't get to.

    Love reading!

  14. I love the cover too, Jenn. It draws you in before you start the book. :)

Good idea to suggest the ones on your shelves. I will need to do that. :). Bring that sack down a bit. :)

    Thanks for stopping by.

  15. I actually had the chance to read this as an ARC, and the cover drew me in Is this a book I would pick out for myself? No, but in the end I did enjoy it. For everyone looking for fast-pace and lots of action, you will be disappointed. If you are a big historical reader, you will enjoy. If you enjoy a good story and don't worry about how long or where the journey will take you, I think you'll enjoy the read. I am not a historical fiction fan, I like to know where I'm going and I LOVE action, but I still enjoyed this very much.

  17. Dearest Rose by Rowan Coleman. It looks great, but it's huge. I also know I could time the review to coincide with the US release, if needed.

  18. I haven't heard of it. Book clubs are awesome. They usually choose books that I would never pick up but I end up enjoying (usually). I'm always looking for another great book to read.
