Book Blogger Hop - 9/20 - 9/26

What is your favorite genre? List two of your favorite books in that genre.

I LOVE historical fiction.  This is difficult to only choose two so I am going to choose current historical fiction that I have read and reviewed.

Favorite #1 is THE LAVENDER GARDEN by Lucinda Riley.

Favorite #2 is THE OTHER TYPIST by Suzanne Rendell.

That was painful to only have to choose two. :)

Can't wait to see what others choose.

  1. Happy Hopping!!

Just finished THE WEDDING is going to be added to one of my favorite historical fiction books.

    EVERY woman should read it.

  2. These books sound great. I too enjoy historical fiction but I can't say it's my favorite. In fact, I can't say which genre is my favorite.

    My answer

  3. I have to check these two out. I like this genre too! Along with all the others. LOL!

  4. I'm really not sure what my favorite genre is these days.

  5. I like historical fiction too.old follower

Hope you can visit my Book Blogger Hop

  6. Historical fiction is a favorite of mine, as well, although it is hard to narrow my favorites down to just one genre. As for my favorites within that genre, I love Hilary Mantel's work, especially Bring Up the Bodies and C.J. Sansom's Matthew Shardlake series. Presently, I'm reading Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin naval history series. All of these, and many others I could mention, bring history alive.

  7. Hi Dorothy...thanks for stopping by.

I haven't read any of the books you mentioned, but they sound good.

  8. It is hard to choose, Vonnie. THANKS for stopping by. will love them both if you are an historical fiction fan. THANKS for stopping by.

I changed from mystery to historical fiction...who knows that I won't change again. THANKS for stopping by, Kathy. :)

Michie - isn't historical fiction great. I never did like history in school and now it is my favorite genre. Too funny, huh?

    THANKS for stopping by.

  9. I don't read many historical fictions, but being that The Lavender Garden is based in Paris, I might give it a try.

The Other Typist sounds interesting because I loved your review. I may have to read it sometime!

  10. Hi, Elizabeth!

When I read historical fiction, there's usually romance in it! Lol. So I do need to read more non-romance historical fiction. I'm going to check out the two books you've mentioned. I'll have to look through your reviews to get recommendations.

Thanks for sharing, and for commenting on my BBH post!! HAPPY READING!! : )

  11. Yes it's hard isn't it! But those two books I haven't tried so thanks for the share~

  12. Love your historical fictions recommendations (in my eyes). :)

  13. THANKS for stopping, Mary.

Kipha...I hope you get to read them. what you like with or without romance. :) THANKS for stopping.
