Question of the Week:
Does the title of a book make or break your choice to read it?
My Answer:
Oh yes....to me a title is VERY important.
If I love the title, I am hoping and assuming the "inside" is just as good. :)
If there is a great title and a great cover, the book has no choice but to make it to my bookshelf. :)
Do you use titles to make book choices?
Thanks for stopping!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading Weekend.
I don't think I worry about the title as much as the cover. I know, I'm shallow.
ReplyDeleteCatchy titles get me, but I do like the cover more.
DeleteThanks for stopping, Kathy.
I'm definitely influenced by a good cover and title! I'll read the blurb first generally but there have been times a book has jumped into my bag just based off that cover/title combination!
ReplyDeleteGreat way of deciding.
DeleteThanks for stopping, Katherine.
The cover is a bigger factor to me than the title but I have judged titles too. :)

DeleteI am enjoying everyone's answers.
Title and cover art together help me choose.
ReplyDeleteBoth are important to me too.
DeleteThanks for stopping, Kym. Nice to see you visiting.
Sometimes the title may not appeal to me, but I go more according to the cover and the blurb. :)

Makes sense to me.
DeleteI do like the title, but the cover heavily weighs in. :)
Thanks for stopping, Diane.
I don't typically lean on a title of a book, but I do love when a book title complements the cover art. Like you, I do not hesitate, I immediately pick up the book :)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a lovely weekend Elizabeth :)
My Answer
I love that too. Titles and covers and of course the inside are definite factors.
DeleteThanks for stopping, Claudia.
I said in my blog post that now titles are going to be jumping out at me and that's all I'll be noticing for a while. Ha ha.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day... it's raining in the west! We need it.
That is funny, Debbie.
DeleteThanks for stopping. Great on the needed rain.
Cold, overcast, and drizzle here in Pittsburgh.
I'm the same way! Part of me feels like this is shallow of me, but the truth is, if an author hasn't taken the time to come up with a good title and cover, I see no reason to believe the inside will be written with any more care. I also have found that book marketers know me pretty well. Some covers really pull me in and there are often the books I end up liking best.
