My book beginnings is taken from SISTER DEAR by Laura McNeill:
"In her final minutes as an inmate at Arrendale State Prison, Allie Marshall's body pulsed with tension. Eyes averted, managing any movements with robotic precision, she remained on guard.
Only moments to go."

I finished this book last week:
THE SECRETS OF FLIGHT by Maggie Leffler
Loved it.
A marvelous debut
Loved the characters...wonderful description.
The only thing I had difficult with was getting the gist of the story at the beginning, but after that I couldn't put it down.
My review will be up on April 26.

Thanks for stopping, Suko.
Moments to go ... moments to go? Tell me more!
ReplyDeleteSmiling at your comment.
DeleteIt is very good...a thriller with an evil sister.
Thanks for stopping, guiltless reader.
Hi Elizabeth,
ReplyDeleteAllie definitely won't want anything bad to go wrong if she is about to be released from prison ... I do wonder why she thinks it might though ... Has she been threatened whilst she has been inside, or has she upset too many people who might enjoy seeing her have to stay behind bars for just a little longer?
I must admit that I did check out the full premise for this one, as I was so intrigued. Guess What? .. It's now on my want to read list :)
There seems to have been a spate of sister related thrillers going around just lately. The book I featured in my 'Book Beginnings', 'Orchids and Stone' has sisters at its heart. But if you want real sisterly rivalry of the worst kind, the book I am currently reading 'Beside Myself', certainly has that in spades!
Thanks for sharing and have a good Monday :)
Yvonne.
LOL...your TBR stack has to be as toppling as mine. :)
DeleteYou will LOVE Sister Dear, Yvonne.
I saw you had a sister feud in the book you featured too.
Thanks for stopping, Yvonne.
Such a great beginning. It definitely pulls me in. :)
