My book beginnings is taken from THE GIRL IN THE CASTLE by Santa Montefiore:
"The two little boys with grubby faces and scuffed knees reached the rusted iron gate by way of a barely distinguishable track that branched off the main road and cut through the forest in a sleepy curve."

The Girl In The Castle is pretty good so far.
ReplyDeleteI "think" there is some paranormal in it which I normally do not read, but the castle and life in the castle is keeping my interest.
Thanks for stopping.
I'm curious about The Girl in the Castle...and Stalked has been haunting me.
ReplyDeleteHere's mine: “LUCKIEST GIRL ALIVE”
Can't say too much just yet about The Girl In The Castle because I just started it, but I think I will like it.
DeleteStalked is right up your alley, Laurel. Mystery/Thriller - I finished it the other day.
Thanks for stopping, Laurel.
The opening draws me in, Elizabeth! I look forward to learning more about this novel.
ReplyDeleteI like castles. :)

I liked the beginning - sounds just right for the kind of story this is - looks like you've read some really good books this week - I have a few of them on my wish list. Here's my Friday meme
ReplyDeleteThe book is good...I am only 1/4 of the way through, but I like the main character. She is a spunky nine-year old who lives in a castle and has a governess and hates having a governess. :)
DeleteI enjoyed all those books.
Which ones do you have on your wish list?
Thanks for stopping, Maria.
I like the sound of that beginning. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings).
