My book beginnings is taken from TWO DAYS GONE by Randall Silvis:
"The waters of Lake Wilhelm are dark and chilled. In some places, the lake is deep enough to swallow a house. In others, a body could lie just beneath the surface, tangles in the morass of weeds and water plants, and remain unseen, just another shadowy form, a captive feast for the catfish and crappie and the monster bass that will nibble at it until the bones fall asunder and bury themselves in the silty floor."

Hi Elizabeth,
ReplyDelete'Two Days Gone' is definitely going on my list, I love that descriptive opening, who wouldn't read on?
I see that the main suspect is a college professor, which is a coincidence, as the book I am reading now 'Rise Of The Iron Eagle' has as one of its murder suspects, a teaching principal!
Happy Reading and enjoy the book :)
Yvonne
