Question of the Week:
When you settle in for the night with a good book, do you read until you can't stay awake or simply have a nightly page goal?
My Answer:
I "try" to have a page goal but not being able to stay awake usually wins.
I can't read in bed anymore because it's not comfortable for me. :(
ReplyDeleteI don't read in bed but wherever I read sleep usually wins out. :)
DeleteThanks for stopping, Kathy.

Well, same here! Lol. That happened to me a LOT when I used to have two jobs. I'd go into work some mornings half asleep...haha!
ReplyDeleteMy morning job was in an office, and I started at 8:30 AM. But sometimes I would go to bed at 1:00 AM, and had to get up at 7:00. Obviously, I didn't get that much sleep if I stayed up that late! But some books SURE deserved it!
Now I'm happy as a lark, with a part-time job that pretty much allows me to go to bed as late as I want!! YAAAAAAY!!!!
We bookworms should really be able to read as much as we want, especially at night! Heck, there really should be a law! Lol!
Hope you have a GREAT weekend!! Thanks for visiting my own BBH post and leaving such nice, lovely comments!! <3 :)
Great to hear your part-time job is working out better.
DeleteI wouldn't be able to function if I had that little sleep. :)
LOL on the bookworks...true.
Thanks for stopping, Maria.
It happened a few times already I NEED TO FINISH THAT BOOK!! then sometimes would fall asleep during office breaks Lol
ReplyDeleteLOL on falling asleep on breaks.
DeleteOh those books. :)
Thanks for stopping, Kaori.
Me too. Mostly, I've given up on trying to stay up late and read since I'm a middle school teacher. Happy reading.

When I was teaching, there was no way I could stay up late. :)
DeleteI still can't even after I retired. :)
Thanks for stopping, Eli.
I so rarely pay attention to page counts when I read. It's funny because even though I sometimes will tell myself "Just one more chapter", I don't even notice when I have finished a chapter and have moved onto the next. As it is, I rarely stay up reading late anymore. Only if it's not a work night and I know I can sleep in a little in the morning.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great week!
True on not knowing about the chapters when you are really absorbed.
DeleteENJOY your week, and thanks for stopping, Literary Feline.
I usually read until the next chapter but if that's too long away then I might give up earlier. Then again if it's that good and it's not too late I might just keep reading and squeeze in another chapter before lights out!
ReplyDeleteIt is difficult to stop reading.
DeleteI actually am having a difficult time stopping where I am tonight, but sleepiness always gets me as it is now.
Thanks for stopping, Michelle.
I can understand when sleep takes over and you can't read anymore it usually happens to me as well. Thank you for stopping by my blog hop Elizabeth.
ReplyDeleteOh yes...sleep usually wins. :)
