Question of the Week:
How many books have you started, but just couldn't finish? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)
My Answer:
Last January I did not finish at least 6 books within two weeks.
Not sure what was going on.
Throughout the year, I think I only did not finish two books.
So my total is 8 books for 2016.

I usually stick with a book even if I'm not enjoying it and I don't know why.
ReplyDeleteI used to do that, but I don't any more. :)

I do the same thing Elizabeth, but every year the minimum of unfinished books that I read is two to three books each year. Which I am very happy with that record of mine. lol Have a great weekend Elizabeth and here is my blog hop answer for this week.

Last year was an unusual "did not finish" year for me.

I don't really keep count but I think I'm probably about the same. There are only a few books that I've flat out DNF'd in the last little while.
ReplyDeleteI try not to, but reading is my pleasure, and reading something I don't like is difficult.

I always try to stick with a book even if something's not clicking. I like to give them a chance to improve.
ReplyDeleteI try, but some just don't click. :)

That does seem like a lot of books you did not finish in a short time. Do you think you'll try any of them again later?
ReplyDeleteSometimes I skip the middle if the plot is starting to sag. I have set aside a few where I just couldn't relate to the main characters or they seemed to be extra unreliable narrators.
Most likely I will not give them another try.
DeleteI give books a good go before I stop, but some just don't interest me.
Thanks for stopping, Roberta.
I don't usually keep count, but sometimes I have a hard time settling into something that works for me.

That happens to me at times too as you can see. :)

I'm sure my total was much higher. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping, Shandy Jo.
DeleteI only had one so far this year. :)
Unless I've made a decision not to continue reading a book I think of them as unfinished or for reading later rather than DFNs. I have a lot more unfinished than DFN
ReplyDeleteGood idea how to label your unfinished books. I like it.
