This was a surprise...love surprises.
On Wednesday, January 25, I received:
1. THINGS WE HAVE IN COMMON by Tasha Kavanagh, courtesy of Emer Flounders, MIRA BOOKS, Harper Collins.
On Saturday, January 28, I received:
1. THE LAST NIGHT AT TREMORE BEACH by Mikel Santiago, courtesy of Mirtha Pena or Simon and Schuster.
A surprise book, but Amazon says for fans of Stephen King.
Stephen King isn't a favorite of mine, though. :) We will see.

I'm curious about The Last Night. Hope you discover new authors with your new books.
ReplyDeleteThey both are new authors.
DeleteI am hoping The Last Night isn't too scary. Not sure when or if I will read it.
Thanks for stopping, Laura.
Love the covers on both of these. Hope you enjoy them.

It is fun to get surprise books.
DeleteThanks for stopping, collettakay.
Hi Elizabeth,
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of 'The Last Night...' more than the other one. However, as the author is Portugese and all the biographies about him are written in Portugese and Spanish, I am guessing that this book might be a translation (although I can't be sure) and that doesn't make it such an attractive proposition.
Still, it is always good to receive surprise books!
Have a great week :)
Yvonne
I have to see about The Last Night...I don't like Stephen King, but I will give it a try.
DeleteYes...surprise books are such fun.
Thanks for stopping, Yvonne.
Nice mailbox for you, enjoy!

DeleteThanks for stopping, Mary.

ReplyDeleteThank you Emma, and thank you for stopping.
DeleteBoth of these seem a bit dark. I'll be interested in your thoughts. Happy (I hope) Reading!
ReplyDeleteThings We Have in Common was dark and odd.
DeleteNot sure I will read the other one as it is compared to Stephen King's books.
Thanks for stopping, Martha.
I've heard good things about The Last Night at Tremore Beach (though in French translation), and I really want to read it too. I hadn't heard the comparison to Stephen King though, that intrigues me more!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
Interesting...I didn't know it was a French translation.
DeleteLOL on Stephen King...he is not an author I read.
I may give it a try, though.
Thanks for stopping, Kay.
