Book Bloger Hop - 6/23 - 6/29

 Question of the Week:

If you are at a really good point in a book and the phone rings or the door bell rings, do you stop reading or let the phone or door bell go unanswered? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)
My Answer:

I am laughing at my own question because I did let the doorbell ring one time but not on purpose.  I was just so absorbed in my book and was in an upstairs room.

I actually didn't hear the bell.  I still don't know who it was, but it must have been someone I didn't want to see anyway.  :)

I definitely let the phone ring unless it could be an emergency.

Caller ID is wonderful isn't it?  :)

  2. Hi Elizabeth! I don't have a doorbell!! LOL!! My dogs are my doorbell. Caller Id yes! - I won't answer the phone if I am on a really important place and I know it's someone who will talk for longer than 5 seconds. Like my sister....

Enjoy your weekend! My answer is on the Friday Meets post: http://marelithalkink.blogspot.co.za/2017/06/friday-meets-23-june-2017.html

  3. I usually answer the door and would answer the phone if it was the right person calling.

  4. Oh, yes! I really like having caller ID. :-) We often miss the doorbell or knocking when we are upstairs. Our bell isn't very loud.

I hope you have a great weekend, Elizabeth! My daughter just woke up. Now to get her dressed so we can start the day.

  6. I love this question! :) I usually at least look to see who it is, then ignore if I don't know them.

  7. Don't feel too bad! Sometimes if I'm sucked into a really good book it takes multiple attempts for my family or fiancé to get my full attention!

    Great question/answer!! :)

    1. LOL...or I was too far away from the doorbell to hear it. I think that was the case.

      Thanks for stopping, Nicki.

  9. You're SO funny, Elizabeth!! :) :) :)

You know, that sort of thing would also happen to me, except that we live in a condo apartment, so we don't have an "upstairs", lol. Well, whoever it was, they sure got "the message" that you weren't answering the door, and went away!

That must have been some book you were reading, too! Do you remember the title? I'd LOVE to check it out!

Yes, Caller ID is great, but you still hear the phone ring. We got rid of our landline when we moved into our condo a little over 2 years ago. We both HATED to hear that phone ring! When we went to check, it was usually a spam call. How annoying! But now we both have call blocking apps on our cell phones. Those stupid calls can't get through. Heck, the callers can't even leave voicemails! Lol. So I do recommend that you get one of those apps for your cell phone, Elizabeth. The Google Play Store has LOTS of FREE phone blocking apps.

Oh, and the "Do Not Call Registry" is NO help at all. I've given up complaining to the FTC, too. I just rely on my good ol' "Hiya" call blocking app!

Ultimately, my very BEST option is to read at night. NO interruptions whatsoever, not even occasional ones! Lol. This is GREAT for night owls like me,too! :) :)

Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a lovely comment!! HAPPY READING WITHOUT INTERRUPTIONS!! :) And I hope you're enjoying your Saturday!! HUGS!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)

    1. Thanks for your wonderful reply, Maria.

Night reading is good when I can stay awake. LOL!!

      Thanks for the Hiya tip.

I honestly don't remember the book, but if I remember it, I will let you know. I do these posts WAY in advance so this probably was written late last year or early this year. :)

      Thanks for stopping, Maria.

  10. I wish I can ignore the doorbell or the phone, but alas I just can't because it could be an family emergency. And I don't have a caller id to find out who is calling on the phone. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog hop and have a great weekend Elizabeth.

  11. I ignore the doorbell almost always. I check who it is, but it's never someone expected or invited.
