Question of the Week:
If you could have lunch with any living authors and/or book bloggers, who would you choose and why? (submitted by Kitty @ Vicarious Bookworm)
My Answer:
I would have the same answer as the question from April 7 asking what author I would enjoy meeting.
I would enjoy having lunch with Daphne du Maurier.
She is a master at creativity and intrigue. Her characters are authentic. Even though most characters are unlikable, I would want to ask her how she came up with her characters and how she made them the way they are.
I would also like to ask her how she came up with the ideas for her books. :)
As for bloggers...I would LOVE to have lunch with any of my book blogger friends. They are the BEST!!
We definitely would have a fantastic "book" lunch.

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping.
Sounds like I need to read one of her books.
ReplyDeleteRebecca is my favorite!!
DeleteThanks for stopping, Kathy.
Very nice answer! I have not read any of her work. Strangely enough, I didn't pick the author I chose based on how much I like their work but how interesting I think their personalities must be.
ReplyDeleteI like how you chose, Edel.
DeleteThanks for stopping.
Du Maurier would be a great choice. She sounds like a fascinating woman and she's an amazing author. I've got My Cousin Rachel coming up on my reading list and I'm really excited about it!
ReplyDeleteI never read that one, but Rebecca is my favorite.
DeleteLove the evil Mrs.
Danvers. :)
Thanks for stopping, Katherine.
I still need to read one of her books! I think it would be interesting to visit with an author whose work has carried on through time. I bet it would be really insightful!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing, Elizabeth. I hope you have a great weekend!
I haven't read all of her books, but the ones I read have been good.
DeleteGothic and mysterious. :)
Thanks for stopping, Literary Feline.
Elizabeth, Thanks for stopping by my page. Your answer is so funny, I was listening to a podcast today and they mentioned Rebecca and My Cousin Rachel, both written by this author (if I'm not mistaken). What a small world. Now that Your chosen author is beloved. :)
ReplyDeleteOh...she is good.
DeleteThanks for letting me know about the podcast, and thanks for stopping, Kymberlee.
I agree!! I want to go to lunch with SO many of my blogger friends!
ReplyDeleteIt would be wonderful to have an entire roomful of us. :)
DeleteThanks for stopping, Erica.
Awesome answer! That would be so cool. :)
ReplyDeleteI would love it. Books and book blogger buddies can't be beat.
DeleteThanks for stopping, Lauren.

DeleteDaphne's books are nice and gothic and mysterious. :)
Thanks for stopping.
Wonderful pick. I actually saw the new film version of My Cousin Rachel only yesterday, and Rebecca is one of my all-time faves in terms of book, film, and musical!
ReplyDeleteRebecca is awesome...Mrs. Danvers is the one who makes it my favorite. :)
ReplyDeleteHow was My Cousin Rachel?
Thanks for stopping, Nicki.
Lunch with other book bloggers would be blast - and probably last for hours because of all the book talk :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes...we would close the place down. :)
DeleteNo way could we talk for only a few hours about books. :)
Thanks for stopping, Mary.
Oh, I would enjoy having lunch with du Maurier myself! She certainly IS a master!! I was a bit disappointed with "Rebecca", but I would still like to meet her.
ReplyDeleteAs for bloggers, as you know from my post, YOU are one of the ones that I would greatly enjoy having lunch with! Even though we don't read the same genres, I'd LOVE to find out more about the ones you like to read. And I saw from your comment on my post that you've read "Twilight"!! Oh, how I would LOVE to discuss that one with you!! And I could learn more about historical fiction from you! We would have a BLAST, Elizabeth!!! Lol.
Thanks for your lovely comment on my own BBH post!! Hope you're having a WONDERFUL Saturday!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
You are sweet, Maria. It would be fun to have lunch with you.
DeleteI liked Mrs. Danvers more than Rebecca. LOL!!
Thanks for stopping, Maria.
Awwww.....thanks!! You're a sweet person, too!! <3 <3 <3
DeleteI would LOVE to have lunch with you in an Italian restaurant of your recommendation!! :) :) :)
Yeah....Mrs. Danvers was the PERFECT, CREEPY villain! *shivers*
You're more than welcome for my stop!! Hope you're having a WONDERFUL Sunday!! <3 <3 :) :)
The best Italian restaurant would be at MY house. :)
DeleteThanks for stopping back, Maria.
Hi, again!!
DeleteI'm on my cell now. We're at a restaurant called "Brio". But I'm SURE the best Italian restaurant would be at YOUR house!! Lol.
We would LOVE to go there, if we were ever in Pittsburgh! 😃
But alas, if you came down here, we would have to take you to one of the BEST Cuban restaurants, as I don't cook.... Lol. 😝😝😝 There are two very well-known ones: "La Carreta", and "Versailles" (despite the name, it IS a Cuban restaurant).
Hasta luego!! (Later!) 💖😘💖😘💖😘💖😘
Awesome answer Elizabeth! I have heard such amazing things about Daphne du Maurier books, that I really want too check out her books too. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog hop and have a great weekend my friend.
