Book Blogger Hop - 9/15 - 9/21

 Question of the Week:

Have you ever bought a more expensive edition of a book, when a cheaper edition was available, just because you preferred the cover of the more expensive one? (submitted by Maria @ A Night's Dream of Books)

My Answer:

I am a "cover lover," but wouldn't spend more money for a book just because of the cover.  :)  :)

  1. Well in my case it was because of more than just the cover. Usually the cover can be the same and there's extra content inside. I totally pay a bit more for that.

  2. I'm typically like you, except for where the Harry Potter series is concerned...I'll buy all the different covers for that :) - Katie

    1. Pretty covers are a draw, but if I have one book, no need for another. LOL!!

  3. Well, as you can see, I weathered Hurricane Irma! Thank God, we didn't have any damage. In fact, I haven't seen any structural damage to buildings here in Miami. The storm hit much harder on the west coast. We did see a lot of downed trees as we drove around, though. This made me sad, as I ADORE trees!

I'll bet you know what my answer will be, right? Lol. But I can understand wanting to save money by buying a cheaper edition of a book. Heck, if I can get a cheaper edition with a beautiful cover, I'll totally go for it!

    Thanks for sharing!! Hope you have a WONDERFUL weekend!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)

P.S. My answer is at MindSpirit Book Journeys this week. :) :)

    1. So happy to hear all is well. I was concerned for you and your family.

If it's cheaper, I might consider, but if I have one already no sense buying another. :)

  5. I pretty much agree. If it's $2 difference maybe, but no more.

  8. I think it depends on how much more the pretty cover version is... But I'd probably go for the less expensive. That's the beauty of kindle though! You dont have to worry about ugly covers :)

  9. only carry the first versions of books in my bookshelf and Kindle libraries. I admire and get jealous of people (Booktubers, more specifically) who can buy different versions of the same book, regardless of the price. My bookshelf is pretty small, so I have to be very mindful of how I spend money on books, especially if there is an updated cover on it.
