Question of the Week:
When meeting with friends, do your discussions usually turn to books? (submitted by Maria @ A Night's Dream of Books)
My Answer:
Oh my goodness YES!! LOL!!
They KNOW the conversation will definitely end up about books when I am involved. :)
Some friends do not read, but they get involved too by simply listening and sometimes ending up actually reading a book.
I fall somewhere in between talking about books and not these days!

Sadly, my answer for this week's question is simply "no." I don't know anyone that reads books.
ReplyDeleteThat is sad.
DeleteThanks for commenting, Billy.
It depends on the friends.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but I always end up talking about them and draw others in. :)

I don't have that many bookish friends unfortunately but that makes the blogging community extra special!
ReplyDeleteThe blogging community is AWESOME!!

Oh, you're SO lucky to have people around you who are interested in books!! I don't have ANYONE. :( I do have a few female friends, but they're not into books. However, I DO have quite a few ONLINE buddies -- like YOU! -- whom I CAN discuss books with! Thank God for the Internet!! Lol.
ReplyDeleteOne of the BEST things about book blogging is the camaraderie among us book bloggers! You're pointed this out yourself, and it's SO TRUE!! This keeps me blogging, time after time!
I'm SO HAPPY to have you as a book buddy, Elizabeth!!
Have a GREAT weekend, and thanks for sharing!! (Wish I could have some of your pesto bread in person, though....lol.)
HUGS!!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
HUGS...it is nice to have in-person people to talk to about books, but ONLINE buddies are awesome too.

How fun for you! I pretty much never want to bring up books with non-reader friends because I'm too much of a people pleaser, and even with reader friends it seems we end up talking about other things instead. Thank goodness I have the internet for bookish discussions. Have a great weekend. - Katie
ReplyDeleteIt is difficult sometimes, but I do manage to get everyone to listen.

lol I so wish I can sway my other friends who don't read into book conversations, but sadly they would hear none of that discussion with us they either excuse themselves or go into another conversation with another person. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog hop Elizabeth.
ReplyDeleteHa ha....that happens at times too, but most of the time they just listen.
DeleteThanks for commenting, Katiria.
Always great to inspire others to read!
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree.

It seems any topic I talk about with my friends reminds me of something in a book I read so of course I start talking about the book. My friends usually aren’t surprised by this lol
ReplyDeleteLOL...sounds like me.
DeleteThey know better, and KNOW chats always go back to books or references to things in books.

Your friends sound really nice! I'm glad that they let you talk about your interests even if they're not necessarily involved in the reading community. Those are the types of people who make the best friends to be around and interact with! It's awesome that sometimes they'll actually get inspired to read the book as well - that goes to show how influential the reading community can be!

That's great you have friends who read at least sometimes. Mine don't :-(
ReplyDeleteIt is nice, Lynn.
DeleteThanks for commenting. Nice to see you stopped by.
My friends are big readers, but unless it's something we've all read, we don't talk much about them. I love the blogging/booktube community though; we can talk books all day long!

Oh yes....you cannot beat the book blogging community.
