Friendly Fill-Ins - 8/31/2018

1. The best teacher I ever had was ____.

2. The worst teacher I ever had was _____.

3. I recently learned how to ____.

4. I think everyone should know how to ____.

1.  The best teacher I ever had was my business teacher when I took some classes in high school.  She inspired me to become a business teacher.

2.  The worst teacher I ever had was no teacher.  I always had good teachers.

3.  I recently learned how to airdrop photos from my iPhone to my MacBook or to my iPad, and vice versa.

4.  You will KNOW my answer.  :)

I think everyone should know how TO TYPE.

What else would a business teacher say about the most important skill anyone can have?  :)

Knowing how to type is as important as reading according to me.  :)

  1. Thanks for stopping.

Do YOU know how to type?

  2. I love your pictures on FB. Have a great Labor Day weekend!

    1. Thank you, Cuz.

Have you tried those apps I suggested?

      Thanks for commenting.

  3. Yes, I know how to type. :) If I am composing, I can type relatively fast. If I am copy typing, I am much slower, but still a decent speed. I can type by feel. I know when I've made a mistake without looking and can often correct it without looking, too. Sometimes, though, the mistakes sneak past me.

I recently learned about the AirDrop thing. I was trying to text a picture to my mother-in-law while at her house. My phone was so full of pictures at the time, there was no space/memory to allow it to go through text. I noticed when I got near her phone, and icon popped up that said AirDrop and her name was there. Having no clue what would happen if I tapped it, I took the risk and tapped it, and she got the picture. I think its great! I also now have a device that can take all the images off my phone onto a memory card so that I can upload them to my computer. That is so much easier than sending 5 pics at a time via email!

I enjoyed my business teachers in high school, too. One was a very sweet lady who recently passed away. She was my Typing II teacher. There was a nice man, too, who taught business machines. I enjoyed those classes, though I have never in my life, except for that class, had to deal with those computer programming cards with the 0s and 1s (David says they were called punch cards).

I am glad that you always had good teachers. :)

    Have a blessed weekend!

    1. I LOVE your detailed reply.

Your first paragraph describes me too. LOVE those comments...thanks.

I LOVE Airdrop. I need that item you are talking about that takes photos to a memory card. Please let me know.

Yes...I had to teach those punch cards too along with shorthand, all typing levels, Business English, and Office Procedures.

I really enjoyed my teaching career.

      Thank you for commenting, Suzanne.

    2. Thank you, Elizabeth. I have a horrible time trying to think of things to write for a blog post, but can't seem to stop writing when it comes to blog comments. haha

I will send you an email shortly with the link to the device that I mentioned. It has been a huge help for me. Please let me know if the email makes it to you or not.

I am glad that you enjoyed your teaching career. There are so many that just seem to see it as a job and don't appear to be enjoying it at all. That lack of joy can affect the children's experiences, too. A happy teacher makes a big difference.

Thank you, too, Elizabeth. Have a blessed day. :)

    3. LOL on your having no trouble responding to comments. :)

      Got the e-mail...thank you.

      Thanks for stopping back, Suzanne.

  4. I remember in high school, my guidance counselor advised me to take typing. I lasted a few weeks. The desk was too short for me. I did learn how to type and very well in the short time I was in the class. The teacher was great. Have a blessed week.

    1. Awwww...all business teachers are GREAT. LOL!!

I'm glad you learned how to would have been sorry if you hadn't.

      Thanks for commenting, David.

  5. Thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I am really glad you never had any bad teachers. Some of the answers I'm reading make me so sad that certain people are even allowed to be teachers, so I'm glad you had all good teachers. And typing is indeed a crucial still these days! I have a co-worker who types using just his index fingers. He's a very nice guy, but it takes him a while to get things done. I can imagine you'd really cringe if you saw his typing technique. Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Oh yes..I would cringe. :)

Whenever I see someone typing with two fingers, I want to say something. :)

Thanks for commenting, The Menagerie Mom.

  6. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I am glad you never had a bad teacher, I actually had to really think to come up with one. I had reading for #4 too :) Have a nice weekend. XO

    1. Oh yes...typing and reading to me are VERY important.

      Thanks for commenting, Ellen.
