It's DAY #5 - December 12

WED. | Dec 12 – #AMonthofFaves Routines, Habits and Changes. What Worked this Year and/or What Didn’t. What habits, routines or rituals worked for you this year – either something you kept doing – or something new that you started. What did you try that didn’t work … or what did you used to do that no longer works for you.

Habits and Routines:

I start my day by posting on Facebook, Instagram, and Litsy.  I use my iPad for this.

I then check my e-mail - I like the computer for checking e-mail.

I check my blog on my computer and write posts if necessary.  The computer works better for my blog.

I LOVE the iPad Pro.  It is the best purchase I have ever made.  I have an external, bluetooth keyboard that makes the iPad even easier to use and more productive.

Not fun typing directly on the iPad with two fingers.  I was a typing teacher, and that really is annoying to not have a keyboard to type on. My external keyboard works perfectly.  :)

I have an Apple keyboard that was a gift and I know expensive, but I also bought a reasonably priced keyboard at Walmart that works just as well.  It was $20.  :)

I answer comments and comment on posts throughout the day on social media and on my blog.  I can easily answer comments on my blog from the iPad, but posts need to be done on the computer.

I read in the afternoon and evening.

Do you have some habits to share?

What Worked:

My routines and reading time have worked well this year.

I keep calendars online as well as a printed list with books that are scheduled for review. I also keep a written calendar for ideas for daily posts on social media as well as on my blog.

I have ALWAYS been organized, but I seem to have become even more organized this year.

My online calendar is https://www.brownbearsw.com/

I really like the online calendar because I have the entire year and the following year easily accessible. I color code the reviews so I know which ones have been read and which ones need to be read.

And - you know how the calendar quickly fills up with books for review.

What do you do and use for organizing?

Something New and Something That Didn't Work:

I actually haven't done too much of anything new because my routine and my organizing works well for me.

I hope to see some new ideas that I MIGHT try.  :)  Too old to change too much!!  And a creature of habit.  :)

  2. I find online calendars just don't work for me. And yes, I definitely use my laptop for writing blog posts or responding to longer e-mails. I can't handle doing that on my iPad.

    1. They just do not work out well on the iPad do they? I never can get the photos found and uploaded.

      Thanks for commenting, Natasha.

  3. I still haven't set up my iPad (a friend gave me her old one) but this post is definitely prodding me in that direction. I think the lack of keyboard might be holding me back now that you mention it. :)

I use my Google calendar for everything or I would remember nothing.

I'm so glad you've found routines that work for you.

    1. I agree, Akilah, that the lack of a keyboard would be what is keeping you from using the iPad. :)

I do not like typing on the screen keyboard....I touch type and need a “real” keyboard. :)

      Thanks for commenting.

    1. Sorry I didn’t mention it on your blog.

I’m glad you stopped by to see the answer.

      I really like it, Andi.

Let me know if you decide to use it.

It is able to be accessed by others if needed.

      Thanks for commenting.

  5. I keep my calendar on my phone and my bullet journal but I need to be more organized when it comes to book reviews and how I schedule my time! Glad you have found a routine that works for you!
