Book Blogger Hop - 1/29 - 2/4

Question of the Week:

Do you share books? If so, do you have a system to keep track of whom you lend books to? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)
My Answer:

I do share my books but only with trusted friends.

My system is to take a photo of what I give to each person.

I used to record the books in an Excel sheet, but the photo works much better.

  1. I'd probably do an excel sheet myself if I loaned them out. I don't do that anymore. Lol.

    1. Sometimes it's better to not lend books out.

      Thanks for your comment, Jessica.

  2. Lending books to a friend could be the end of a good relationship! I read on my kindle these days and can't lend those books (it's not available in the UK). I probably would lend them if I could - as long as it's possible to claim them back!

    1. I am very particular who I lend mine to.

They KNOW to be sure to take care of MY books andto RETURN them or they won't get any more. :)

Thanks for your comment, Louise H.

  3. I share books but only with true book lovers and they come back tattered or bent in any way, the deal is off! LOL. My books always looks brand new after I've read them. One time, my coworker brought my copy back and it had water damage and WINE on it. I do not keep formal track. I have a very sharp memory for who has what.

    1. I am sure that coworker didn't get any more books. I had one person have her dog take a bite out of one.

      No more for her.

I know who to lend them to. :)

      Thanks for your comment, Ti.

  4. That is a good idea. If the book is a hardcover, I keep the paper cover to remember it is loaned out.

  5. I do not loan out books often enough to make it worthwhile to track them. And more often than not, the people I loan them to live with me--or it's my mom. She's very good about returning books if I want it back. Have a good week!
