Favorite Holiday Festivities – show off your favorite ornaments, home decor, place to go, holiday drinks, holiday eats, holiday themed reads
 *********

I am a bit of a scrooge when it comes to Christmas decorating.  I don't have too many decorations up yet and don't go all out.

Right now I only have a table cloth, wreath on the front door, and a wreath on the house above the garage.

We just set up the tree.  I think I am going with only lights on the tree this year.  No ornaments, but plenty of books on the right side of the tree.  :)

We have Christmas Eve together as an extended family with lots of food...I am Italian.  That tells it all about the food.  :)

Christmas Day is usually with the spouse's side of the family.

I normally do not read Christmas-themed books.

  1. Your tree looks lovely. Sometimes less is more. I hope you have a great holiday!

  2. We've been collecting ornaments ever since we got married and I can't imagine not hanging them. I love pulling them out and thinking about the story behind it or who gave it to us.

    1. Thanks...it is cloth which can be a problem. :)

I sprayed it with Scotch Guard. Seems to help.

      Thanks for stopping, Stefanie.

  4. Books by the tree make the best Christmas decorations!

    1. They sure do. I had to have another place for my books since my shelves are overflowing so I putthem in that little tub.

      Thanks for stopping, olduvaireads.

  5. Well, you actually have more than I do. We have a wreath at the door and that's it. We always go home for Christmas so there seems to be no need for us to decorate here. :)

    1. I wouldn't decorate either if I were going away.

      Thanks for stopping, Diane.

  6. There was an interesting question on the Get Booked podcast. A listener wanted suggestions of books that took place around Christmas but that didn't really feature Christmas as a central part of the book. When you said you don't really read holiday books, it reminded me. I don't either, but it's kind of nice to have Christmas as a background this time of year.
