Dark Roads by Chevy Stevens

One heartache after another is what Hailey had to deal with...the death of her mother, then a few years later the death of her father.

With no other relatives, Hailey had to live with her aunt and her husband.

Having to live with her aunt and her creepy husband, Vaughn, who doesn't let Hailey do anything outside of the house might be proving to be even worse than the death of her parents.

Once She finds out a secret about Vaughn and learns that girls have gotten murdered on the main highway, she makes her decision to leave.

No one has any clue who the perpetrator is, but Hailey is determined to find out.

We follow Hailey as she escapes the house and lives in the forest.  There was a lot of survival information that took away from the suspense for me.

We also meet Beth whose sister was murdered and was Hailey's friend.

Beth has come to Cold Creek to try to find out what happened to her sister.

Hailey and Beth work together to figure out who is murdering all these girls even though they don’t trust each other at first.

The characters are all a bit on the dark side and most aren't likeable.  The title is perfect for this book.

DARK ROADS did drag for me, and I skimmed through some of the pages.

This isn't my favorite book by Chevy Stevens, but I do have to say it did get suspenseful toward the end.  3/5

This book was given to me by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
