A Wonderful Idea From MY Spotlighted Book Club

This is my book club. I am in the pink sweater on the left side - I know curious minds will ask. :)

We won books from Reading Group Choices, were spotlighted, and came up with an idea that Mary Morgan from Reading Group Choices liked.

We were featured in the Reading Group Choices February Newsletter.

The Daily Grind's Lending Library
After being featured in the Reading Group Choices’ Spotlight and receiving our books, our book club needed to come up with an idea on how to share the nine books we received.
We brainstormed and decided that the best way to share our win would be to make a table with the book's title, the borrower's name, and the date the book was borrowed. At the following month's book club meeting, we return the borrowed book and choose a new book.
This lending idea gave us another wonderful idea. We brought in our own books and added them to the "lending" library list. As you can see from the photo, we have a wide variety of books to choose from and share. All members have enjoyed mystery, memoirs, general fiction, and historical fiction.
One of our members is a book blogger and receives Advanced Reader Copies from publishers and authors. Those books are special treats since we can read them before the publication date.
How does your book club share the books your Spotlighted Book Club has won?

Curious minds want to know. :)

Can you guess which member is the book blogger?  LOL!!  Thanks for stopping by.

  2. What a great idea! I don't really belong to a book club per se. A bunch of my friends and I meet for dinner periodicaly and swap good reads. But I do belong to two writing groups, and we all like to read. Hmmm.

  7. I always like hearing stories about book groups. And am sorry when people say that they have a hard time finding a group. Always want to tell them start at their library. There are often groups there or even ask your library if you can start a group that will meet there. Libraries are usually looking for new programs.

Elizabeth, your group looks like you have a great time. What a good idea to form your own "lending library".

    1. I suggest the library too. Our library has a monthly book club.

We enjoy our discussing of books and other topics. :)

Thanks for stopping, Kay. Our lending library is fun.

When we are done with them all, I donate them to the local library.

  8. I love to read, but I am not in a club. I don't read much fiction and that is what most clubs pick.

    1. You should still give a book club a try. You may just like the socialization. :)

I go to my book club sometimes without reading the book because I didn't like it, but go for the fun of getting out. :)

      Thanks for stopping, pilch92.

  9. Great idea for sharing books. Our club does not, unless it is the title of the month then two people might take a turn reading the book. A few of us try to check books that are selected out of the library.

    1. We bring in our own personal books to share.

We do have a requirement for our book club that the books have to be in paperback and have to be in the library. Everyone doesn't like to buy them.

I know I don't like to buy them.

      Thanks for stopping, Pat.
