Blogger New Year's Challenge - 1/11/16

Join Rachel of Parajunkee.com for The Book Blogger New Year’s Challenge that will begin on January 1 and run for 14 days.

Day 11: How many books are you
reading in 2016?
Top books on your TBR?

I normally plan to read around 50 books a year, but you never know what life has in store for you so that is a safe bet for me.

The top books on my TBR stack are mostly historical fiction or women's fiction.  I have a few in the mystery genre.

Mystery used to be my main genre, but it has now switched to historical fiction and women's fiction.

I listed a few book in another post that are my top books.

Right now I have a list of about nine books that I definitely want to read, and they all are in those three genres.

    1. Good idea.

I usually aim for a low number so I am not stressed.

      Thanks for stopping, Kathy.

  2. Hi Elizabeth and Kathy,

I agree with you both about setting a reading goal that is achievable, so that I don't feel pressured or stressed by half way through the year.

I seem to be stuck in a nice way, to a whole series of psychological thrillers and have discovered some great new authors along the way. I do have quite a few different genres on my TBR shelves, so I should make a conscious effort to ring the changes very soon and try something new :)

Enjoy your challenge. I hope that all is well with you and enjoy your week.

    Yvonne

  3. I really have no idea of the top books I'm looking forward to for 2016. I only know of one right now. Harlan Coben's book to be released in March called Fool Me Once. :)

  7. I set my goal at 100 this year.. I am aiming to over shoot it, but at the same time I am reading for MY ENJOYMENT, not to meet a number, so I very well might not even hit 100.. Who knows!

I actually was never able to get into Historical Fiction.. I mean I like SOME of it - but for some reason it has to be certain kinds and written a certain way for me to enjoy it.. Which is weird, because I LOVE watching Historical Movies.. makes no sense to me lol

I hope you enjoy all your books!
