Three timelines ranging from 2017 to 1982 and three different stories all set in southeastern Alaska.
We have Franco Marconi in 1917 who hears a call for help and tries to find the woman he knows still has to be alive even though the Coast Guard gave up on her.
Then we have Joe Baxter in 1938 who was running a fake gold mine and keeping the proceeds for himself and two other buddies.
In 1982 we meet Anya Baron who lives with an abusive husband and does all the fishing for him.
All three characters will immediately pull you into their stories with the detailed, beautifully written prose of Mr. Morris that will have you yearning to take a trip to Alaska.
How do the storylines come together?
