This is Elizabeth from Silver's Reviews. I have been blogging since 2010, and have gone to the BEA in New York four times.
I just wasn't up to going this year, but am excited to participate in the Armchair BookExpo fun again this year. I enjoyed last year's Armchair BookExpo. I didn't go to Chicago last year.
I like to go to the BEA in New York because my son lives in Hoboken, New Jersey, which is right across the Hudson from the Javits and I get to visit him and also have fun at the BEA. :)
My favorite genres to read are historical fiction, mystery, and women's fiction. I have been reading some amazing women's fiction this year. Please check them out in the archives if you like.
My least favorite genre and one that I don't read is sci-fi or fantasy.
I hope I can get to visit everyone's blog and participate at least a little. I am out of town.
Here's to a fun, eventful Armchair BookExpo and to making new blogging friends.
Have a wonderful week!!
Happy Armchair BookExpo, and thanks for stopping.
ReplyDeleteI am do jealous that you normally get to go to the expo. I have been once and have not had the $$ to do it since :/ I hope you have a wonderful week with us here with Armchair!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Steph.
DeleteIt really is fun, but tiring.
Thanks for stopping.
I save money on housing because I stay with my son. :)
DeleteThat's so awesome that you've been able to attend the live expo!! What was it like?
ReplyDeleteIt was overwhelming the first time, but the other times were fantastic. You get to meet the publishers you talk to all the time, and the excitement just oozes everywhere.
ReplyDeleteSo many book lovers and so many bloggers to meet. Meeting other bloggers was the best part.
Meeting authors was also awesome.
Thanks for stopping, Erica.
Hello. This is my fourth Armchair Book Expo. I am historical romance novelist. How amazing it was that you were able to attend the live conference. One of my goals is to attend the Book Expo as a participating author.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to attend, Allison.
DeleteThanks for stopping.
Hi Silver :) So awesome that you've been to the NY Book Expo so many times, fun fun! I've never been.
ReplyDeleteAnd by Silver, I mean Elizabeth ;)
DeleteIt is fun but tiring.
DeleteThanks for stopping, Julie.
LOL on your comment about Silver.
DeleteI've never been to BEA. It's always just too far for me to justify going for what's essentially a hobby for me.
ReplyDeleteTwo posts: Introductions and Best Practices
Totally understandable.
DeleteI live close, and I get free lodging with my son. :)
Thanks for stopping, Sarah.
Hi Elizabeth! Have a great Armchair Book Expo - I'm glad we have this virtual event opportunity.
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful event.
DeleteThanks for stopping, Lory.
Hi Elizabeth!! I've never gone to BEA I've only heard about it. I live in NJ but as close as I am to NYC it's still pretty far, so I'd thought doing the Armchair version would be better. I read a little fantasy-romance but I don't normally read sci-fi. I just can't get into it like that.

Thanks for stopping, Dani.
DeleteThe BEA is fun, but tiring. As I mentioned, the best part is meeting other bloggers in person. :)
Thanks for stopping, Dani.
Yeah no problem! :)
DeleteHappy Armchair Book Expo! I used to live about 90 miles north of Manhattan and I went to Book Expo twice, but now that I live in Maryland and have little kids, it's not as easy to make the trip. Plus, I think I'm better at networking online.

The Armchair BookExpo is fun and not tiring. :)
DeleteThanks for stopping, Katie.
Awesome that you can mix BookExpo with a family visit, and that you've been four times! Happy Armchair Book Expo to you.
ReplyDeleteOh yes...love staying with my son.
DeleteThanks for stopping, Brenda.
Happy Armchair Book Expo Elizabeth! This is only my 2nd time at the actual event and you're right - it is tiring! but fun!
ReplyDeleteOh...so you are there. FUN!!
DeleteENJOY the BEA, and thanks for stopping by, Stacy.
One of my reviewers reads a lot of women's fiction and there has been a lot of great books in that genre lately. See my intro and best practices
ReplyDeleteThere have been a lot of wonderful women's fiction books lately. It's my favorite genre next to historical fiction.
DeleteThanks for stopping, Donna.
So glad to see you've joined again this year. I'd really like to attend in person, but sometimes life just gets in the way. I hope you enjoy the whole of Armchair Book Expo this year!
ReplyDeleteOh...I will enjoy it.
DeleteI had a great day today.
Thanks for stopping, Alicia.
Hi Elizabeth!! I love following your blog and am happy to see your here at Armchair BEA too!
ReplyDeleteArmchair BEA Cafinated Reads Intro
Thanks, Molly.
DeleteSo glad you enjoy my blog. :)
Thanks for stopping.
AWESOME that you've been, Elizabeth. I've never gone to the event, but do enjoy this armchair version. Like you, I'm excited to visit some of the blogs and meet amazing new bloggers. :)
ReplyDeleteAppreciate you visiting Finding Wonderland.
I truly enjoying meeting other bloggers...book bloggers are the BEST.
DeleteThanks for stopping, Rissi.
ReplyDeleteSorry you weren't able to make BEA this year, but at least you have a place to stay next time! I think that the only reason I was able to go was because I lived across the river in NJ and could take the ferry across.
I take the ferry too...only a few short blocks to walk after that. :)
DeleteHope you are having fun.
Thanks for stopping, Alexia561.
Even though last year in Chicago it was kind of closer to me, and should have been cheaper, when it is in New York, my sister lives in Manhattan, so it is a free place to stay when I go. Especially since she moved just a few blocks away from the Javits center. Thanks for stopping by my Intro post on Lisa Loves Literature earlier.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great to have a relative that lives in NYC. :)
DeleteThanks for stopping, Lisa.
Howdy, Elizabeth! I like reading mysteries, too, especially if they have punny titles. They're my weakness. Here's to a great ABE
ReplyDeleteOh yes....the cozy mysteries always have such cute titles.
DeleteThanks for stopping, Tasha.
I'm so glad to see that you are getting to participate!! Someday I hope to actually get to NYC for the event. It would be so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI had fun at the Twitter Party the other night. Missed the one yesterday.
DeleteYes...I have been visiting other blogs when I get chance.
Thanks for stopping, Tif, and thanks for organizing the Armchair BookExpo.
That's nice that you can combine two great things, books and family, into one trip. I'm sorry that you didn't and or couldn't go this year. Either way, I'm glad you're doing this. Happy ABEA!
ReplyDeleteI just didn't feel like it. Too many things going on.
DeleteI am enjoying ABEA.
Thanks for stopping, Gabriella.
I love historical fiction and mystery. I read them when I want to take a break from fantasy and paranormal.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
Oh yes...historical fiction and mystery keep me entertained. :)
DeleteI don't read fantasy and paranormal.
Thanks for stopping, Ayanami.
Great intro! I'm a women's fiction fan, too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Armchair Book Expo!
I have read tons of excellent women's fiction books this year.
DeleteThanks for stopping, Chrissy.
I know you don't read scifi, but I just watched the amazing movie Arrival. It's a very clever perspective on how a language influences your culture. I'm extremely convinced of that, but the movie pushed the idea to the limit: the heroine learns how to communicate with the aliens, and from then on, her perspective of time changes. It's actually based on a short story by Ted Chiang, called Story of Your Life, and I just read it. It was fascinating, and awesome to see what they did from the story
ReplyDeleteThat does sound quite interesting, Emma.
DeleteThanks for sharing and for stopping.
I've never been to the live conference but I have done Armchair a couple other times and loved it. I enjoyed talking with you via comments last year.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Forst Rose.
DeleteI love commenting...it makes such a wonderful connection.
Thanks for stopping.
Wow, so lucky that you've been to the BEA four times! One of these days...maybe when the kids are older and I can escape for a mini vacation!
ReplyDeleteIt is a lot of fun.
DeleteI hope you do get to go, Darlene.
Thanks for stopping.
