Mini Bloggiesta - 9/21 to 9/24

Fun awaits anyone who joins in.  You will learn things, get your blog and e-mail cleaned up, and meet new friends.

I hope you join in the fun too.

I will be out of town visiting my son so not sure how much I can join in, but I am submitting my list no matter what.
 ***********
Ready to clean things up?  I am.

Taken directly from the Bloggiesta page:

Bloggiesta is almost here! Mark your calendars for September 21-24!!!!

If you’d like to participate with us this coming week for the Fall 2017 Bloggiesta, it’s time to write up a To Do List, post it on your blog, then come back here and link it up!
 **********
Go to the Bloggiesta sign-up page if you want to participate and for MORE DETAILS.  The link is here.

I hope to see you there.

My To Do List:

1.  Back Up My Blog - thank again to Steph from Cover2Cover for the directions.

2.  Clean up my taskbar - I have a ton of drafts of reviews and other items that have already been posted.

3.  Visit other blogs - I have been visiting blog on the linky list and on the Twitter Page.  :)  Love seeing the lists.

4.  Delete some old posts from when I started blogging - I am afraid my blog will crash - will it?  :)
   •     I am currently deleting from 2010 and 2011...did some from 2013 and 2014 also.  Yippee!!
   •    Does anyone know the answer about the blog eventually crashing if there are too many posts????
   •    Getting tired of deleting, but I will continue later  -  I have taken the pages of posts down from 38 to 33 and the number of posts down from 1888 to 1618.

  1. Ooh, will our blog crash if we have a lot of posts? I hadn't thought of that.

    Enjoy your visit.

    1. I don't know if it will crash - I was just putting that out there. :)

I hope the answer is NO.

      Thanks for commenting, Laurel.

  2. I am deleting away. LOL!!

Deleting posts from 2012 and 2013 so far - mostly Mailbox Monday and The Book Blogger Hop.

I am NOT deleting any reviews.

I see the first two years of my blog were all reviews and nothing else...2010 and 2011.

I am so glad I found some memes to participate in.

It is fun seeing these old posts.

  3. Thanks for commenting on my blog post too! I haven't started my list yet; I actually want to change my whole blog's template. It's been awhile (2-3 years!) since I did that. Happy Bloggiesta!

    1. Sounds like a great item to take care of.

      I wouldn't attempt that myself. :)

      Thanks for commenting, dani.

  5. Last weekend I spent a ton of time getting my email inbox down from 13,000 emails to under 3,000, so I don't think I'm up for deleting old posts. Do you know about deleting saved revisions? That can take up a lot of space and if you get rid of those you might be able to keep all of your actual posts!

    1. Wow on 13,000 emails. I have a lot but not that many. Great job, Laurie. 3,000 is definitely more manageable. :)

I don't know about deleting saved revisions. Can you explain?

      Thanks, and thanks for commenting.

    2. I forgot that it may be different on Blogger than on self-hosted Wordpress. I use a plug-in called Better Delete Revision to delete all the revisions (drafts) that get automatically saved while I work on a post, and since I usually edit my posts a LOT before hitting publish, the revisions really build up.

    3. Interesting.

I am not sure Blogger has that, and I didn't know that about WordPress either.

      Thanks, Laurie.

  6. I've never participated in a Bloggiesta. Maybe I should give this one a try.

    1. Give it a go, Carol.

It is fun. I like the Twitter chats and visiting other blogs to get ideas of how to improve my blog.

I also like that I meet new bloggers.

Thanks for commenting, Carol, and I hope to see you in the linky list. :)

  7. This is going to be my first time participating in Bloggiesta so my to-do list is a lot smaller than most of the ones I am seeing. I am hoping to get a disclaimer/review policy written and get a sign-up post done for my 2018 A-Z Reading Challenge. That's it lol! Good luck on what you get done :)

Also, I would be interested in learning about deleting saved revisions, too!

    :) Megan

    1. Sounds like a great list.

It doesn't matter how long the list is, Megan. Have fun, and good luck getting your list completed. :)

      ENJOY, and thanks for commenting.

  8. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm not sure about the crashing. I never really thought about it (I've been blogging since 2009). I hope not!

Enjoy your visit with your son and good luck on your goals. :-)

  9. I've never thought about the number of posts making it crash. Hopefully, someone knows that answer. It looks like you have gotten a ton of work done! Way to go!

  10. Yay for backed up blogs :P
At least you have a back up if it crashes but I have not heard of that happening... now I am nervous - maybe you can reach out to Blogger help...? :/

    1. Thanks for your input about the NOT crashing. I hope not either.

      Contacting Blogger Help might work.

Thanks for commenting and for the help, Steph.

  11. I have close to 3K published posts on my blog and I've never had an issue. Deleting old meme posts certainly makes a site easier to navigate and look cleaner, though.

Good luck with the last of your tasks!

  13. Congratulations on your progress. I think you did amazingly well!
I hadn't heard that a blog might crash, but it's probably more of a blogspot thing. I recommend regular backups, if that's possible.
    Congrats, again!
