Mon. | Dec. 5 – This Is How We Read #AMonthofFaves2016

Number of books read so far, genre you read the most from, picture of favorite (or most often used) reading location, most read author, % eBooks, hardcovers, paperbacks and/or audiobooks, hint at what your favorite read of the year is (let us guess), types of books you wish you read more of, month you read the most and least)

Number of Books Read So Far This Year

I have read 49 books so far.  Not a huge number, but I am happy with all of my books.  I did not finish quite a few at the beginning of the year, but they just didn't fit into my reading style so I decided no sense reading them, right?

Goodreads Challenge

I challenged myself to 50 books which I always choose.  Not sure why I am not above that number already, but I am guessing things that happened in my life this past year slowed me down.

*********

Longest Book:

Most of the books I read are 350 to 400 so I don't really have an answer.

5 Star Books:

Most of my reviews are 5 stars  because I choose books I know I really am going to love.  :)

4 Star Books

Most likely a few, and the reason for 4 stars for me is that the book had a slow start or it was difficult to figure out what was going on with characters.

3 Star Books

NONE because I won't read a book that is something I truly won't like.  :)

A Book I was SO Excited to Read That Disappointed Me:

I know there was one, but I can't recall it.  Hmmmmm...darn.

My favorite books of the year:

Ohhhh...all of mine were favorites.

LOL!!  Here are a few I can think of:

The Velvet Hours by Alyson Richman - Letters From Paris by Juliet Blackwell - Flight Patterns by Karen White - The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper by Phaedra Patrick - The Orphan's Tale by Pam Jenoff

*********
Authors I Read The Most:

Beatriz Williams, Karen White, and Pam Jenoff

*********
First Book of 2016:

After trashing a few books and even the one I read as my first book of the year, I finally settled on The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald.

Audio Books

Actually none

  3. Love your post! I read The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend and really liked it, but then read The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan and actually loved that more (for books about book love!)

  4. I'm so with you on not finishing a book you're not enjoying. There are too many books and too little time to waste it on a book you're not connecting with!

    1. Exactly...I actually "ditched" about six books the first week or so in January. :)

      Thanks for stopping, Susie.

  5. I love how most of your reads are 5 or 4 stars! I have a thing about not giving up on books for a looong time. I'm working on it though :-)

    1. I give the book about 100 or more pages and if I am lost or can't connect, I stop. :)

      Thanks for stopping, Tanya.

  6. I love seeing how people use star ratings! For me, a 3 star is good, but not great whereas for you it sounds like a book you won't even finish. So interesting!

I just discovered Beatriz Williams this year with A Hundred Summers. I loved it!
