Juliet had a difficult year and decided to leave her marriage and move to France.
She arrives and buys the old water mill that she and her husband had visited and couldn’t forget about it.
Once she moves in, she doesn't get approved for her Visa, but the mayor said he can take another look at the Visa if she reopens the village boulangerie.
She knows she can't bake bread, but she will give it a try since she really wants to stay here and open her dream business at the water mill and learn how to make bread that the French residents will eat.
How will she make acceptable bread? Someone in the village who has ties to the old mill and secrets she has kept knows how to do it. Can she get the recipe from this person?
Things don't work out at first, but she is determined.
SUMMER AT THE FRENCH BAKERY is a lovely, heartwarming read that addresses living the way you want to, creating friendships, not giving up, believing in second chances, and finding what makes you happy.
This was my first book by this author, and it was a very enjoyable read. 5/5
